About Mitch

Mitch Guthrie Jr. started his motorsports career racing short course in the CORR (Champion Off-Road Racing) series at the age of 11, followed by the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series in 2008.

Mitch raced in the stock Kart class and quickly moved up to the Modified Kart class where he was on the podium numerous times and had a tremendous final Kart season in 2011.

Mitch has been a navigator for his dad, Mitch Gurthrie Sr., an accomplished off-road racer, and is the youngest participant ever in the King of The Hammers UTV race. At 15, he raced his first season in a Polaris RZR XP 900 in the 2012 WORCS (World Off Road Championship Series) Production 1000 class, and the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Regional Series.

In 2013, Mitch once again served as navigator and spotter for Mitch Sr. in the King of the Hammers UTV race. Mitch dominated in WORCS Production 1000 with five wins and six podium finishes in nine rounds of racing.

In 2016, Mitch moved to the BITD (Best in The Desert) racing series where he podiumed at Vegas to Reno. In 2017, he won the BITD season opener, Parker 250, followed by winning the Mint 400 and Tonopah 250 accumulating three wins in seven races.

In 2017, he also went on to win the 50th Anniversary Baja 1000 overall. Mitch’s success continued in 2018 and 2019 as he won the King of the Hammers UTV race. In 2019 Mitch won the BITD Pro Turbo Championship along with a few wins during the season including the Mint 400 once again.

In 2020 and 2021 Mitch competed in the Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia along with the Andalucía Rally in Spain. He captured multiple stage wins along with a 3rd place finish at the 2020 Andalucía Rally.
